Reference project: Folkhälsan House in Haga – scaffolding and weather protection for a Skanska site

A flexible scaffolding and weather protection solution enabled efficient construction in a confined site.

Site conditions were exceptionally constrained, which required the scaffolding and weather protection solution to continuously adapt to the progress of the construction work. However, the flexibility of the solution enabled smooth operations throughout the entire project.
“With Oleg, we always reach a mutual understanding of what is needed. He understands the challenges of the site and provides good alternative solutions.”, says site manager Bent Colberg from Skanska.

We delivered façade scaffolding and weather protection for Skanska’s building project, Folkhälsanhuset i Haga, in Helsinki. The project was a new-build development, constructing a new residential facility for elderly residents.

We installed façade scaffolding and extensive weather protection at the site, enabling the construction work to progress smoothly throughout the entire project. The project particularly highlighted the adaptability, functionality, and ability of the solutions to respond to changing conditions..

The confined site posed challenges for the implementation.

The most significant challenge on site was the extremely confined plot, which limited installation space and required precise planning at every stage of the work.

In addition, the façade structures created situations where multiple modifications to the scaffolding were required during the project. This demanded continuous responsiveness and adjustment of the structures in line with the progress of the site.

Extensive weather protection and adaptable scaffolding

The project included:

  • Façade scaffolding with platforms installed at 3-meter intervals
  • Weather protection measuring approximately 40 × 25 meters for two buildings

The solution was designed to support the different phases of the project from start to finish. The weather protection enabled roofing work regardless of weather conditions, while the scaffolding provided safe and functional working platforms for façade work.

During the project:

  • The scaffolding was modified multiple times
  • Anchoring was changed on three occasions
  • The structures were continuously adapted to the needs of the site

The execution required flexibility and close collaboration with the site team. Rapid responsiveness to changing site conditions is a key part of our service.

Collaboration with the installers also received positive feedback in day-to-day site operations. When asked, the site manager highlighted the smooth and pleasant cooperation with the entire team as a key takeaway from the project.

“Working with the Starteline team was once again very smooth — truly professional performance.””.

– Bent Colberg, Site Manager

Smooth workflow throughout the entire project

Thanks to the scaffolding and weather protection solution, roofing work could be carried out under cover regardless of weather conditions, façade work progressed efficiently from the scaffolding, and the site remained fully operational despite limited space.

The solution supported the progress of the project throughout the approximately nine-month period from April to December 2025. At the end of the project, the scaffolding was dismantled by us. quickly during the holiday period (27–31 December 2025), which helped complete the project on schedule.

Solutions for demanding sites

The Folkhälsanhuset i Haga project is a strong example of how a well-executed scaffolding and weather protection solution supports smooth construction even in challenging conditions.

When a site demands flexibility and reliability, an effective overall solution is built on experience, careful planning, and the ability to respond efficiently to change.

“I would recommend Starteline precisely because they operate efficiently and collaboration runs smoothly.”

– Bent Colberg, Site Manager
